Meet the
families behind our
Christmas shoot

Real people. Real connections. Real love. That’s what this time of year is all about, isn’t it? This Christmas, we brought together families from all over the world to mark the occasion in style. Here’s what they get up to on the Big Day.

Poppy and Vanessa

Holidays to Barcelona and Copenhagen have been gifting highlights for models Poppy and Vanessa, though both agree Poppy reigns supreme in the present-giving stakes – “She’s very creative and always manages to get me something I’m obsessed with”, notes Vanessa. The couple’s Christmases are fuelled by a shared love of festive markets, quality family time and Mariah Carey – obviously.

“My love language has to be gift giving, I live for it… although Vanessa
does definitely treat me.”

– Poppy Dadd

“Getting everyone together is complicated and full of
stress – but worth it. Christmas is big for us so we make
sure everyone is there for it.”

– Tidou M’Baye

The Chalkers

Having told us that he keeps a mental list going throughout the year of what people may like, Will Chalker is the kind of guy you want to get a thoughtful gift from. Wife Chloe described Christmas for them as a “ginormous” affair, centred around managing competitive game playing between the children, plenty of food (dad cooks) and general chaos.

“I actually proposed to Chloe by putting the ring in her stocking as I know how much she loves Christmas.”

– Will Chalker

The Hollands

Model and homeware brand owner Rachelle Holland, her mum Serafine, and Rachelle’s sons Isaiah-Lee and Eliase are a glorious mix of Ghanaian and European heritage. And one thing they can’t seem to stop raving about is Serafine’s African cooking. They readily admit that – like most of us – Christmas is all about the food (and spending time together, of course).

“At Christmas, I like gifts that can create memories. So rather than something physical, it can be an experience like a trip where we can talk about it for years and years.”

– Rachelle Holland

The Le Goods

For the Le Good family, Christmas is about all the food, all the presents and all the plans. Mum and dad Lindzi and Chris once had an idea for a hair salon on Christmas Day, which turned into a business plan on Boxing Day, and a real-life store six months later. Impressive (but tricky to fit into a stocking).

“Mariah Carey’s ‘All I want for Christmas’ is my favourite festive tune. It’s nostalgic and always gets me up dancing.”

– Lindzi Le Good

The Benns

The Benns are comprised of dad Stacey, mum Jazmine, and siblings Elijah and Indigo, who are both successful child models (although it hasn’t gone to their heads). For this family, Christmas is all about longstanding traditions, such as the annual festive trip to Blenheim castle and a mandatory pantomime. It also features a pretty big tree and a novelty jumper (or four).

“I always do an OTT tree. But this year, we’ve just moved into a bigger place, and going all out – wreaths, banister, the lot.”

– Jazmine Benn
