Forget about banana bread, make your new lockdown essential these banana margaritas.
You will need:
150g frozen banana 85ml blanco tequila 25ml triple sec 30ml elderflower 30ml fresh lime 3 handfuls of ice
Throw everything into a blender, whizz it up and pour it into some margarita glasses. (Cocktail umbrellas also encouraged.)
Just thinking wine this evening? No way, rosé. Spice things up with this sangria.
For the sangria:
300ml rosé wine 30ml brandy 40ml freshly squeezed lemon juice 4 tbsp mint & ginger syrup Sparkling water to top up
For the mint and ginger syrup:
100ml water 100g sugar 50g thinly sliced ginger A handful of torn mint leaves The zest of a lemon
1. To make the syrup, put it all in a pan, dissolve the sugar, pour it into a jar and then put it in the fridge overnight.
2. To make the sangria, fill a jug with cucumber, fresh mint, raspberries and half a bottle of rosé. Then add the syrup, brandy and lemon juice. Pour into glasses and add a little top of sparkling water.
3. Cheers and pretend you’re somewhere sunnier.
Named after her father, a cocktail maestro, this drink is just the thing to perk up a grey day.
50ml dark rum A few dashes of Angostura bitters Juice of half a lime Apple juice to top
Fill your glass wth ice, then add the rum, squeeze in the lime, add a shake of bitters and finally top with apple juice. Give it a stir and enjoy.
