What's your return policy?

We operate a no quibble returns policy and if you return an item within 3 months of receipt, we'll give you back the amount you paid for the item (see postage and packing cost terms) or offer an exchange, whichever you prefer, no questions asked.

Just send the item back to us or return to one of our shops with your receipt and, depending on your preferences and stock levels, we'll either exchange it or give you a full refund.

If you are sending your order back to us, please fill in and enclose the form attached to your delivery note. You can (if you like) let us know that you are going to send back the item by filling in and sending us the form at, but it is not necessary to do so.

After this period, until the first anniversary of your order arriving, you can still return anything that does not meet your naturally high quality expectations (things like wear and tear are included, though garments that have been mauled by pets, drawn on by nephews, worn while decorating and so forth, don't qualify and we can only accept swimwear if the hygiene strip is still in place).

So if you're not happy, we will give you account credit for the amount you paid for that item. Almost all of you are lovely people and will see this as us being helpful and confident about how well made our clothes are, but there will be a few rotten apples who might look on this as an opportunity to refresh their wardrobe for free each season (you know who you are).

Anyone repeatedly trying to do this will get spotted, and a dim view will be taken, probably resulting in us parting company. When returning goods which you bought using a discount or offer, we will adjust the refund accordingly if you fall below the discount/offer threshold, as that discount or offer will no longer apply. Should anything spring a fault in the first 6 months, we will, of course, give you your money back.

If you are a pathological chancer and simply can't help yourself, we recommend trying it on with our competitors instead.

We offer free UK returns, excluding Sale and Clearance orders.

Earrings are non-refundable for hygiene reasons, unless they are actually faulty. With Cowshed products, if the product has been used or the seal has been broken then the whole set is non-refundable.

For international orders we have teamed up with ReBOUND to offer you the cheapest and most efficient returns possible.

Alternatively, please do bring your returns to our Boden Shops. We will forward them to our warehouse for processing. If you would like to exchange an item we shall process it as a refund and recharge you for the new/exchanged product.

I am going away for a month. Can I return the item when I get back?

There is no need to worry as you have a maximum of 365 days to return the goods (although this is reduced to 14 days on sale goods).

Will I get back the original postage and packing charges that I paid if I cancel my order?

If you are in the European Union and you cancel your order within 14 days after the day you get your goods, and you cancel the whole order, we will refund the standard postage and packing costs you paid as part of that order (if any), in accordance with the Distance Selling Regulations.

If you paid for premium or express delivery, we will only refund the cost of standard delivery. You will have to pay the costs of sending the order back to us. We will not refund any postage and packing charges if you cancel after the fourteen days allowed under the Distance Selling Regulations or if you only cancel part of your order (although you still have three months to return your goods and receive a refund for the cost of the goods).

How long does it take to process my returns?

We try to process returns as quickly as possible, but, as stated in the catalogue, it can take up to 14 days when we're very busy.

For international returns it takes on average 8 days for the parcel to reach us.

Once your parcel has been received it will only take 14 days to process the returns and for you to receive your refund.

How do I return an international order?

For international orders there is good news, we've made returning your items even easier and cheaper through our partner, ReBOUND.

3. Complete payment - in your local currency

4. Print the returns label, attach it to your order and take it to the location you selected.

Once your parcel has been received it will only take 14 days to process the returns and for you to receive your refund.



Do I have to pay for postage if I want to exchange an item?

Unless you have an offer providing free returns (we do these promotions every now and then) then you will have to pay for return postage yourself. However, we will happily post you out a different size or style for free.

What if I want to exchange my item for something cheaper or more expensive?

We will refund the price difference between your item and a cheaper one, or require extra payment to match the price of a more expensive one. That seems fair to us.

How long do I have to exchange items?

As with returns, we offer you 365 days to make your mind up.
