These are very flattering indeed. They keep my stomach in and elongate my legs and, at the same time, they are very comfortable to wear. There is some 'slippage' during the day but it is soon rectified and on the whole, these leggings/trousers stay up well. I use these for wearing under tunics and dresses. Thick so good for the cold spring we had until recently and I have just bought more for autumn.

I have very mixed feelings about these leggings. I've been searching for the perfect leggings, very matte, very opaque, with some suck-you-in about them. And these fit the bill. As other reviewers have said, they feel like you are pulling on a wetsuit, the fabric is very thick and tight. The beauty of this is that they do magical things to your legs, bum, and stomach. They are better at shaping and smoothing than even my expensive Spanx! They are properly opaque, even over the butt, and they aren't shiny.

But they have some serious flaws. The fabric is SO thick that it will be too hot to wear in summer. It feels uncomfortable behind my knees too, and is probably bunching, by the feel of it. They are too short for me (5'9"), just a tiny bit. And the ankles look weird, wide and bunchy, even on my chubby cankles.

All that having been said, they make my bum and thighs look fabulous enough that I'm willing to overlook the flaws, and buy them in every colour (except camel). They look wonderful under a tunic, and in the winter I can wear them with boots which will overcome the ankle problem and short length. Altogether, I would recommend these if you haven't got the shape for less forgiving leggings.

These hold in all the wobbly bits in place and mask the cellulite. They don't stretch out of shape, even after all-day wear. Great for under tunic tops but better than normal leggings; not see-through so no problem if my top rides up!! Sit right at ankle which is an achievement as I'm 5'10". Wash well. Just one warning - wash these with like colours; I didn't and dyed a few bras...my fault!!
They are worth the money and I will have no qualms recommending them and ordering again. I've two pairs so far.

I read the reviews and took a while looking at leggings elsewhere. Eventually decided to take the plunge. I'm so glad that I did! Someone described these like pulling on a wet-suit. I'd prefer to say that once on the are like a thick spanx-like legging. Everything is held in, but comfortably! No visible cellulite (believe me, it's there!), tummy held in, bottom lifted! Wow! Worth the extra money as these are not your average pair of leggings! I'll be buying more pairs!

I have these in black and grey and like the heavy weight quality. Thought I would add navy for the spring/summer but the colour is rather washed out and not the classic navy needed in a basic item like this. Also they are baggy round the ankles which I don't have with the other 2 pairs. Unfortunately they will have to be returned.

I only discovered the winter version in the sale, so I absolutely HAD to buy more this time round. This time around, they're truer to size (I found the last season's a bit big), making them even more flattering on my curvy 5'2" frame. Although I'm short, my legs are relatively long, so I don't have a problem with wrinkling around the ankle. I love every single thing about these. The fabric is substantial and the cut, with a high waist that actually sits on my waist and not below it, smooths out all the lumps and bumps. The clever seam up the back lifts my bottom and makes it look perkier than it has in years. In short, if these were available on subscription, I'd buy them every time! This time I have the black, which is smart enough for a night out but looks good at work, and the charcoal - which was my wish for the next generation of Roma. The only thing I might change is the description, because while they're not quite a trouser, they're more substantial and structured than a legging. What you'd call them I don't know, however - all I know is that I call them fantastic. Thank you, Boden - I'm thrilled to bits.

I agree with previous reviewers that these leggings do need a bit of hitching up from time to time and are slightly too think around the backs of the knees. HOWEVER, I have been disappointed with 'good' leggings from other high street brands as they are too thin and/or go into holes easily. The Roma leggings are more of a legging/trouser hybrid and the thick material is therefore a bonus for me.
