I ordered a 10 and felt it was too tight for work - might have been ok for social but it was too clingy for work. I love the shape so I ordered in a 12 but it was way too big across my hips and looked baggy. I am so disappointed at having to return both dresses; I feel I needed a size some where in the middle.

Being short yet curvy, and everything south of my waist not exactly being an area I wish to draw attention to, this dress, with its empire line is flattering, making the most of my decolletage and bust line whilst skimming the problematic hip and derriere region.

At 4'11", it did not make me look 'dumpy' either, rather the opposite. I bought the dress in the Blue and White pattern which was rather flattering.

I do have sensitive skin, and providing this is washed in the correct detergent should cause no problems with wool sensitivity as the merino wool is very soft. It really benefits from being dried flat. I can machine wash at 30 on the most delicate cycle on my machine, although if unsure, I would advise hand washing.

This dress is very beautiful. I disagree with some other comments about it not being comfortable. I suppose it depends on the wearer and I'm quite used to wool fabrics.
The shape and cut of this dress is very flattering and I can't wait to wear it - I plan to dress it down with a jean jacket and chunky necklace until my husband takes me out to diner ;o) One can hope...

This is a dress I can see myself wearing any time any place matched with accessories to suit the occasion.
It's not a true dark navy, more a brighter navy so best not matching it with another navy - go for contrast or complimentary.
For day wear I need to wear a vest top under - I'm a size 12 / 34f and the v cross over pulls a little and reveals a little, but with the right bra on for s night out would probably be fine.
Not washed yet but given it's merino, it will have the same treatment as my merino jumpers - a float in the bath with hand wash liquid rather than a spin in the machine,
Over all, really pleases with the fit and shape it gives me!

I bought this dress in the truffle/cream colourway and was a little disappointed when I unwrapped it, as the radish coloured sash doesn't work that well with the rest of the dress. However, it's comfortable and stylish and covers all magnitude of lumps and bumps, and the slightly incongruous sash colour can be resolved with clever accessorising. I think this will be a casual work wear dress. It makes my apple-like figure look good and I'm particularly pleased with the length as I'm 5'8" and these types of dresses are often a little short. However, I am busty, and this dress definitely requires a modesty vest as it's too low-cut in the front without one.

Being from Canada where clothing sizes are the same as in the U.S, I was unsure whether I had ordered the right size, as I did not order according to the size chart. According to the chart, I should have ordered a size 10 but I just tried on my size 8 and it fits perfectly. A size 10 would have been way too big. I am a U.S size 4 or 6 so i would recommend to Canadian and American women with a similar shape as mine (slim 5'7")to order a size up no more.

After viewing this with longing looks, I sighed, turned the page and said to myself I don't NEED this dress in my life. But I might have put a link to it on [@] mentioning how lovely it was.Lo and behold, a few weeks later on my birthday my husband handed me this dress, and it does not disappoint. It is beauitully cut, skimming my body without clinging and showing up various lumpy bits. The v-neck is cut just right, and the sleeves are the perfect length. The dress finishes just below the knee (I wear the long length as I'm 5'10")I have never owned a dress that is so demure, and yet so sexy at the same time. Thank you Boden, thank you.
