Loved this in the catalogue but the striped one made my hips look enormous (am a very average tall 10-12 with small waist and hips) - waist was on the too high up side and much as I wanted to love this dress with its retro vibe it did nothing for me and needed to go back - the fall of the pleats and heavy material only added to bulkiness

I have one of these in my usual size from last season so thought would try one again. I ordered two sizes 10p and 10R both in sunset. I am 5'1 Indian so thought the colour would be great but must admit it looked terrible on me. I thought it was a very garish orange. Last seasons 10p fit me perfectly but is too short which was not a problem as I wore it with tights in winter so wanted a longer length. Was not surprised that 10R did not fit me well, the waist was in a wrong place, too low for my petite frame but even 10P was not too good. Though this version is longer than previous seasons in same size, it was still too short for me and again the waist was too low sitting on my tummy rather than my waist. I did not have this problem last season. Unfortunately both sizes are now going back.

Lovely dress can be dressed up or down. I had the black and it's very smart and looks great with long silver chain.
Material is comfortable.
I bought the longer length hoping it would be just to my knee, it's a tad shorter on me than desired possibly because I am fairly tall.

The dress fits nice but I am very disappointed with the colour and the material. I have only worn it a couple of times and after a few washes, the colour (navy) has faded and the bottom is shapeless.

I bought this dress to wear over Christmas and absolutely loved it. It fitted so well and was a dream to wear. The material is very thick and heavy so I would say that it would be more difficult to wear in warmer weather. The dress also washes beautifully.

This dress is smart enough to wear to a wedding or for a meal out, for work, business meeting etc, etc - I love it! Have got the Navy and now bought the black too. I'm a size 12 in high st stores but Boden dresses are always way too big on top in size 12 but the size 10 can be a bit 'snug'. However this dress is perfect for my pear shape, the size 10 is fitted at the top and the skirt flares out hiding my pear shaped bottom! It's good quality fabric, hangs well and is very good value for money. I'm 5'7" and the length is perfect too, though I did buy the 10L as I hate my podgy knees being on show. Shall wear with opaque tights (as in the picture) and little wedge ankle boots or dolly shoes. It's a real 'Jackie O' dress and makes you feel special without being 'over the top'.

I reviewed this dress last week when I received it, and although I am more than happy with the fit which makes the most of my curves while skimming over my bulky tummy, I've sent the sunset red back - I wanted a colourful dress and the red looked great online but it's just too orange! Had thought I'd keep it anyway but after a few days decided that orange does nothing for my colouring (would be great for redheads or auburns)and in the absence of another alternative bright colour, swopped for the more boring navy. It's such a great-looking dress that it's a shame Boden don't do it in more colours - cherry red, peacock blue, emerald green, royal purple would be fantastic! Next season Boden?
