I have been looking for a nice raincoat for ages and to find something that looks good when you reach the larger sizes (18) is mission: impossible. When I read some of the first reviews though, the words frumpy bulky and dumpy came back so often that I decided not to order - I had also been disappointed by the very stiff trench from last winter... Until I tried my sister's !!! She has the bubble version in a 14, and although it was too small for me of course, I could see some hope ! I got mine this morning and biked to work through a flood with it - it was properly christened ! It fits me perfectly, it is taken in at the waist enough not too look frumpy, the fabric is not stiff, it just is perfect ! My only regret is that it doen't come in other colours, perhaps a charcoal grey, coffee brown, even duck egg would have been very nice. If there's a winter version along those lines I will probably try it !

I bought the trench in navy petite as a treat for my 40th birthday. I am just under 5'4 & a size 14 and as at the time of ordering the navy was only left in the petite range, I decided to give it a try. The fit is absolutely perfect for me, sleeves and shoulders are just where they should be,comes to mid-thighs. I love it, bought a scarf with a touch of red to lift it up a bit. Have just started wearing it and got loads of compliments already. Some reviews complained about it being quite heavy weight, I like it as it means it is suitable for Spring and quite far into the Autumn.
Love the stitching and the spotty lining too.

I have had a few trenches in the past and often the trouble with them is that they crush easily and you end up looking like Columbo or like a frumpy extra from a bad '70's sitcom. This trench is differnt. It holds it shape really well and almost miraculously lets rain and drinks spills run right off without leaving a mark. The belt is long enough to tie in a chic little bow or a double knot. The finish is emmaculate. It just looks like a well made coat, not a run-of-the mill copy of the high street trend. Its the sort of coat you'll turn to season after season. And what's great is that the lining is so bright and fun you'll almost want the wind to flip it open so passers-by can see it! I have the sand version which I know will go with pretty much everything from work wear and jeans. A true classic.

When I saw this trench coat, I simply had to have the blue bubbles version - I just LOVE the design.

As I am extremely pear shaped, I tend to size up in coats from my regular size 16 (on the top half) for coats. The size 18 is a great fit, I can wear a thick jumper or a blazer underneath, and it fits well around the hips / tighs. The size 16 would have been very tight around the hips, so I am quite happy with the size 18.

I understand why some reviewers say that the coat is boxy, but I suppose this is also due to the fact that the material is quite heavy. This is not a light summer coat, but rather warm.
(Could you please offer a lighter version for warmer days as well? That would be great!)

I am never quite sure about the lining: the red cotton looks very stylish, however, I find more "slippery" materials for the lining more comfortable - like the material you used for the arm lining - thanks for not having the arm lining in cotton as then one always get stuck when taking the coat on or off. As for the other lining, as much as I like the cotton for the feel of it, I prefer more silky materials for the lining as they do not stick to the layer underneath.

I can see this coat accompanying me through the colder spring days on a daily basis, to work and in my free time, and I am sure I'll get a lot of use out of it.

The great pattern is an instant mood lifter!

Pushed for a con I would say the finish lets this garment down. Button holes are less than perfect and it arrived with bits of cotton hanging here and there. Otherwise nothing to let it down.

I have the plain blue. Fits well and hangs well whether worn over a jacket / sweater or blouse and has already proved a useful addition to my wardrobe. Very happy with this item and especially with the cotton lining (thank you Boden) and I am sure it will receive lots more wear between now and the winter.

Good quality, well made mac.However, style did not suit me so I have returned it but I would not hesitate to recommend it to less curvy friends.

I have the yellow in size 8 petite and it's beautiful the length is perfect (I'm 5ft3) but waist is big.The colour, fabric and quality are great and I love the lilac spotty lining. My advice is buy one before they are gone but size down!

I have been searching for years for a classic trench to fit my petite frame. When I saw this in Boden's petite range I initially had to think twice, due to the price, but then I caved in and decided to treat myself. I am so glad I did as I have worn it every day since it arrived!

The fit is absolutely perfect on me (UK6 petite) and I love the classic Boden touches (funky lining, contrast stitching, excellent quality). I went for the "Sand" colour which is perfect (not too dark or light). It looks great over black trousers/shirts for work and also over jeans/t-shirts at the weekend.

I can see me wearing this trench for years to come!

Although... I would love a lighter weight version, perhaps without the lining and in a waterproof fabric, for summer showers, and I could go for a brighter colour!
