I ordered the 8 year old size for my nearly-eight daughter. It was a bit shorter than I expected - I thought it would be below the knee but it actually sits right on her knee. She normally refuses to wear shorter things but she liked the "twirliness" of it!

My nearly 9yo daughter chose this but we were both disappointed when it arrived. The colour is neither pink nor purple (I guess mauve does describe it well but it's just a bit insipid). Whilst it would be a good every day skirt for messing around in it just doesn't have that Boden 'je ne sais quoi' that the clothes have. It's just a plain, simple skirt I guess.

This is a great basic summer skirt, my 8 yo choose the Mauve colour and she is happy, she can't wait to wear it, got the top that goes with it. Nice summer outfit. Have not washed it yet. The fabric is a nice soft cotton, so hope it will remain that way.
