I purchased the French blue, as well as the pink pair, for my tall for her age 7 year old in age 8 years & they fit really well.
The shorts are fairly 'short' but not in the hot pant league, & I am happy enough with the length to allow my daughter to wear them. My daughter has got long legs, so I did think about purchasing them in age 9 but because my daughter is very slim I think they might end up being too large around the waist.
The shorts look lovely on, especially teamed with a ruffle vest & bright cardigan...just gorgeous!
They are in a lovely quality heavy cotton...just perfect for wearing on warmer days!
Also, me & my daughter both love the little dog logo, I don't think that it cheapens the shorts at all, & is a cute touch but obviously that is just my own personal preference :)
I would highly recommend.

Bought these for my eight-year-old to replace last year's ones which are too small. She loves them! Always her holiday/beach shorts of choice. So easy over swimming costume or just noodling about in the sun. And, as far as she's concerned, the fact they're purple is the cherry on the icing!
