The waist on these were huge. I'm normally a size 12 but reading all the sizing charts on the website I ordered a 14. The sizing charts and the actually clothing don't always seem to match up :(

I read all the reviews before ordering; some said these ran big, but at least one said they ran small. Usually if a size is way off, Boden will acknowledge that in the description, but they didn't here; figuring the size couldn't be THAT wrong, I ordered my usual 14R, thinking if they ran a bit big, no big deal.But these are easily a full size too big! I came straight here to review and warn others. I'm annoyed because this was avoidable if Boden had either gotten the sizing right or warned us on the website -- [...]Also, as others have noted, they are not skinny, but straight.

I took delivery of these fabulous cords yesterday. I ordered a size 14r in the dark green. I don't think I have ever tried on a pair of trousers which have instantly felt comfortable and fitted perfectly. I know that I will be wearing these for years to come - they are supurb. The only downside is the dark green have the appearance of black but I am so thrilled with the fit that I will be keeping them. I bought these in the clearance sale so feel that I have a bargain pair of trousers which fit so well its almost as if they were taylor made!

Quality/colour/good but the fitting and cut of the fabric is not ...seems to be too much fabric across the front thigh area...looked more like jodphurs..Sorry Jonnie they are going back.

I didn't buy these until the clearance as I was put off by the model shots. In fact these are completely different from the photos. (How does that happen?) I bought them to replace my velvet straightlegs which I managed to rip during a spectacularly embarassing tripping over incident(!) and these are a good replacement and actually pretty similar. They also remind me of my straight chinos from last summer. Boden straightleg casual trousers are becoming a wardrobe staple for me, I much prefer them to jeans, but I do wish Boden could get to the bottom of the straight versus skinny distinction.

As with so many of the other reviewers I've been looking for the perfect pair of slim fitting cords and was so excited to find that boden had some in gorgeous colours. Put off by the price I awaited the sale and orded them in a 10r. I'm not the most curvaceous of women, with fairly boyish hips however these cords absolutely gaped at the back and when pulled in with a belt looked frumpy and bizarre - although I have a larger bum from cycling etc. I'm no Beyonce so it's not down to me being a "funny" shape. Meanwhile the front had a bit too much fabric going spare too and the fit was generous in the thigh. The second two problems I could put down to personal shape, but the gaping 3 inches of air between me and the waistband at the back couldn't be overlooked so despite their gorgeous colour and lovely feel they went back.
Positives?
Good colours, good weight of fabric, comfy (in the places where they fit)nice height to the waist.
