My friends say I am a glamorous lady but these trousers made me look like an old woman. All I need was to let my hair go grey, have a perm and buy an anorak. These are for a slim young person, they do not suit anyone over 50 I should say, especially anyone size 16 like me. My normal leg length is 31" but the trousers looked either too long or too short on me - couldn't make up my mind how they should look. I bought the cropped skinny jeans and they like great on me but not these trousers I am afraid. Sending them back.

Beautiful fine Italian wool trousers. I'm a size 8-10 on top and 10-12 bottom. I know Boden are neat-fitting on trousers so I ordered 12R and they are perfect. I have long legs for my height and they sit just above the ankle (unlike some of the other reviewers I deliberately didn't choose the longer length because they are after all supposed to be ankle skimmers).I'm not a rake, I'm your average slightly pear-shaped British female but these lovelies make me look like a model (except for the bum - models' bums are useless at filling trousers - they look way better on us normal girls I have to say. The photo just doesn't do these trousers justice)! Love the fine wool, it's almost too delicate for me as I'm not used to such luxurious fabrics - they definitely need to be looked after and not carelessy chucked in the laundry pile. I'll have to make sure I avoid snagging them on coarse furniture. The sale price is unbelieveably good value, I just can't get over the quality - it's on par with a good-quality man's italian suit that would normally set you back around [$]! I would buy the jacket to go with it but my office is more relaxed and always pretty stuffy so I couldn't really justify it as I wouldn't have the occasion to wear it. I would recommend getting both if you do wear full suits to work as in the sale they make an incredibly good value suit. If you are in between sizes like me then don't kid yourself. Go for the larger size and you will look two sizes smaller as they are supposed to hang off your frame so that the pleat-front sits properly. Don't ruin these lovely trousers by trying to squeeze into a smaller pair!I have a heavier/ warmer pair from last year's autumn collection and they're pretty much the same style except those ones have little belt loops so you can accessorise them when you tuck a blouse into them (it's a shame not to show off the pleat front and the neat waistband). Belt loops would be nice on these too Johnnie if you don't think they'd ruin the look/shape :)Am off to buy the black pair now (I bought them in grey). It's not often you find comfortable and fashionable work trousers...

I Bought this for work to match the jacket ( Which was great) however the trousers,which were great on length and generally really well fitting but were really baggy looking athe front. I was really disapointed as the material and everything about this outfit was great .

I received these as a gift from a friend. I love them and have worn them for work, casual and evening; so versatile. Fit excellent. My one niggle is that they are lined with a man made fibre (polyester). This means the advent of slightly warmer weather in late spring renders these otherwise wearable trousers unwearable. Please Boden line natural fabrics with natural fabrics - breathability is important, especially as weather warms up.

Ordered with trepidation after reading other reviews. I needed a nice pair of trousers for an evening out so tried these expecting to send them back. I admit since turning 50 I am finding it hard to find trousers to fit my size 10 but these fit perfect, definately need long length though as they are ankle skimmers. Nice material and can be worn dressed up or down. Love them.

The size and shape are great, but I am disappointed by the material, it is a magnet to dust, hair and everything I come near. I constantly have to "brush" them as they look unclean. And I am a little bit frightend that the ends are going to tear, the thread is very loose there. Please make them in a different material!! They are very chic with ballerinas to wear!

I tentatively ordered these trousers after reading some of the other comments. I wasn't sure about the length at first - I couldn't decide whether they looked like I'd bought trousers that were too short. The fit everywhere else was great. However, I decided to go with them - wore them to work and got load of compliments so they're definitely keepers. Lovely for spring. Now am drawn to the matching jacket...

I ordered this to go with the matching jacket and skirt. Very disappointed - too bulky around the waist, though no pockets, and the length did not work either. I ordered the L which was too short for normal trousers and too long for the cropped look. True to size.

I am still undecided about the trousers. I was disappointed with the images on the website - what is the point of 'Pleat front trousers' when you cannot see the pleats or the gros grain waist band?
I am sure we can all work out that you can wear trousers with a cardigan and swing from a ladder at the same time!
The Quality is good, the trousers are well made. Like the prevoius reviewer I agree they are cut on the narrow side on the thighs, so if you have the thighs of a shot-put thrower then these trousers are not for you.
I am a slim size 8-10 and my thighs are the biggest part of me, so my shape is not really the shade for skinny cut straight legs.
All said they are nice trousers and I'm still pondering.......
