When I saw this black skirt, I thought it would be perfect with my grey wool coat and add festive touch. I'm 5'6" and got 10L Black and very happy about my decision. The A line skirt is very comfortable, stylish and just covered my knee. My only drawback is the material is thinner than I have expected. I haven't washed it yet, so my concern is if the wave stitches would shrink after wash or not. Hope it will keep the beautiful A line shape.

After trying it on, I was all set to give a 5-star review. The skirt is BEAUTIFUL. Excellent fit, and the photo doesn't do justice to the zig-zags.

However...after one day's wear, it was terribly creased, and the bottom had 'bagged' (like trousers get 'knees' in them). I have another Boden 'swishy' skirt made of a sort of cotton drill, and it goes many wears without needing ironing, and keeps its shape beautifully. But this one doesn't! Pity - perhaps the cord needs to be thicker.

Don't know why I hesitated over keeping this - it's comfortable but well designed enough to wear to work and on a not-too-formal night out, well made and eye-catching. I got mine in purple and the zigzag trim makes it team up with fuschia pink or red tops with equal compatibility. When I tried the same colour match with a plain purple skirt the effect of two strong blocks of colour just looked like something from kid's tv, whereas the fact of the coloured trim on this makes a strongly coloured top look like part of a thought-out overall look. Good fit too (I'm size 6), although would like half an inch less width on the waist and an inch more length on the hem. Again - doing a longer length for the size 6s would be welcome.

This is a great skirt. Initially, I was put off by the decorative trimming at the hem thinking it might be a little too 'pearly queen' for me but I was wrong! The trimming in different shades of narrow ribbon means that the skirt can be co-ordinated with different coloured tops as well as the basic caramel and mocha cord (the two colours I have).

The cord material is lovely and soft and feels great with a pair of thick tights and a pair of boots. The length in regular is just right for my 5'2" height stopping just on the knee which looks stylish - not too long, not too short. I look forward to wearing this skirt all winter long.

I have this in black size 10R. I like the slight A line shape and the ribbon detail at the hem line. The cord is nice and soft so it does feel quite flippy but not as flippy as some other Boden skirts I've had in the past, which were probably jersey. It's fully lined too which makes it feel a bit more special. The regular length is quite skimpy though so if you like your skirts below the knee it might be advisable to order the longer length. I deliberately ordered regular as I like my skirts on or just above the knee. The size guide is pretty accurate but I know lots of people don't check them.I've only given this 4 stars as I feel it is very expensive for what is essentially a cord skirt. I did get discount but is still was well over [$].

I really like this skirt, I have the purple and the shade is really lovely, not too plummy as often happens with purples, particularly in corduroy. The ribbon detailing lifts it above the ordinary, and the fabric is soft enough so its not 'sticky outy', also the style is such that I can walk around and get on and off busses in it! (unlike one of boden summer skirt styles which I could only stand still in) Hurrah! It washes and wears fine, though now mine is a little bit snug around the waist (I havnt worn it with tshirts tucked in), possibly I should have got a larger size. I find its casual enough to just wear it out and about, but its dressy enough to take me to smarter places too

I ordered this skirt in my usual size 12 and found no problems with the sizing at all, it fitted at the waist (not too high) and through the hips with no trouble. I am a pear shape (10 for tops and 12 for trousers/skirts) and generally find Boden skirts fit really well. The purple is a lovely colour and the ribbon round the bottom makes it bright and cheerful. Looks great on warmer autumn days with bare legs but also with thick tights on cooler days.

I am a size 10 and size 10 fitted perfectly. I like the length, looks geat with thick tights/boots. Good quality, not heavy, well lined, the black version goes well with pale greys and blues.

I really liked this skirt. The colour and detail are great and it would work well for casual and work wear. As a size 12-14, I ordered the 14L but sadly it hung off my waist but the hip fit was good. I am 5ft 6 and a pear shape with a small waist. I struggle to find skirts that fit at the waist which are not too tight on the hips. Boden can we have more skirts for those of us that aren't quite so straight up and down?
