this skirt is made of great fabric, and is well made, but is not well cut for anyone with hips! the waistband is very tight (hello? we're not wearing corsets anymore!) but there's too much fabric around the belly and hips - very unflattering. and anyway, this fabric is just SCREAMING to be made into a knee-length pencil skirt! c'mon, boden - what are your designers thinking? i could've done a better job with this skirt!

Just received the vintage boucle skirt in the black/grey with metallic thread. The fabric is heaven, perfect for an understated but very elegant look. For certain this skirt will be worn on many occasions this holiday season, it is perfect with the lovely blue Sassy Stitch blouse suggested in the photo. I did not find the hem too short and had the skirt lengthened an inch as I am over 60, if I had been younger I would not have bothered. I find the gross grain waistband a lovely touch. The fit is fine and paired with opaque black tights and pumps the look is practically unbeatable.

Having read some of the reviews since purchasing this skirt I felt that I must write in its defense. I first saw this skirt advertised in a Red magazine article and fell in love with it on sight. My purchase has not disappointed, and several people have asked where I got it. I ordered the brown colour in a size 6. I am 1m 70cm (5ft 7"). To those reviewers who say that it is too short, the clue is in the title, it is a mini skirt! A few centimeters longer and it would be frumpy, almost a pearls and twin set number;the short length keeps the skirt trendy. Material is gorgeous. More of the same please.

nicely made & enough detail not to detract from the lovely fabric. ordered my usual size 10 in grey & it fits perfectly but, it's so short for it's purpose. the fabric is so luxurious i think it's best suited to formal wear. i've dropped a star for this reason - furthermore the hem is very skimped i'll only gain an inch if i do try to let it down. pity it's not available in 2 lengths. i'll have to think about this one

This is my second review of this skirt. I ordered a size 10 which was too tight and too short so sized up to a 12 to try to get a balance of both. The size 12 skirt was bigger but the lining was just as tight and it looked ridiculous. This skirt is a lovely fabric but was spoiled by the horrible make up, nasty lining and general cheap labour used to put it all together. I will be surprised if this review ends up on the site as the other one didn't. Seems to me that Boden need to smarten up their act before they lose most of their loyal customer base. Only one star for this which was undeserved.

I ordered this as a bit of a treat, as it is at the top end of what I would usually pay for a skirt. When it arrived I was disappointed even before taking it out of its polythene packaging. It just looked really cheap - the sort of skirt you pick up at a high street chain store. The ribbon waistband looked odd, and when I did try it on it didn't fit right but looked too short and didn't fit properly on the hips.
I just couldn't bring myself to pay lots of money for this skirt so it had to go back

As commented on by other reviewers, the skirt is very short and I wouldn't feel comfortable wearing that lenght for work at my age.

The skirt is tight fitting, having sized down due to my experiences with the sulphur skirt, I think I should have ordered my normal size although I would still expect this to be quite a tight fit.

Fabric was nice and I was very disappointed to send it back as I had ordered the whole outfit as shown in Red which looked very smart.

This skirt is a bit expensive but I got it with a decent offer, and I love it. The fabric is gorgeous - I got the grey colourway. Unlike the previous reviewer, I find the length just right, though I'm also 5'6" and have long legs. It's a little above my knee, which is actually the length I prefer for winter skirts, rather than the knee length shown in the photograph. The waistband detail is very pretty.
I got the 8, and it fits perfectly. Highly recommend it!

I love this skirt. From the moment I saw it in Red Magazine I had to have it. It's so stylish and well made, even better than I had imagined. Trouble is at 19" length its way too short for me, at 5ft 9in and 47 years old, even with opaques and flats or boots it looks too short. Photo of model looks the perfect length more like 21". Big shame I have to return it, I even considered adding a contrasting black hem pelmet to add a couple of inches. A beautifully made, stunning skirt. I'm gutted!

Gorgeous material, loved the style but much too short for me. I'm 5'6'' so not model height but this skirt came nowhere near my knees, nowhere near the length shown on the model Such a shame it has to be returned, sorry Johnny!
