Not wishing to be contraversial but I actually like the beads, I got green and its the beads that make it a different dress. My friend has the same dress, removed the red beads and replaced with muted spare beads, I'm going to keep mine as they are - personal taste. Having said that its a great dress for the sale price. Absolutely love the purple - darker than photos and much nicer. Sizing bit off for me (because of my big bum), 14 huge around top, 12 is snug on bum so makes the dress raise up so it doesn't sit so well on my shoulders. However hoping when it's been hung for a while and I've got my magic knickers on problem should be sorted at both ends! Tried the chiffon trim cardi in gold with it and wanted to thank 'boden mad' and Millie Miller for advice on picking up on clashing colour - haven't worn yellow since I borrowed my Dad's team rugby top 25+ yrs ago!!

Lovely dress. I agree it's a wee bit mumsy but so am I so that's OK! It made me feel slim and drew several admiring glances when I wore it on holiday in Egypt. Two problems though - it gapes at the back of the neck. Not a huge problem and not bad enough to return. Also, the sleeves are white inside and you can see it a bit. I wouldn't have paid full price for it but got it for half so kept it. I agree with a previous review that the beading is plasticky but it came with a big bag of spare ones and as I make my own jewellery I'm going to make a bracelet to match.

I can't get over the nasty plastic beading! The design and fabric are lovely. The fit is a little mumsy but I added to great wide, purple, leather belt to give shape and - voila!

But those beads just don't cut it in the class stakes. Even my teenage son had to point them out as a no-no.

Dear Johnny, if you are going to charge a premium - fine - but step up. If you are going to attach dodgy beads, then design them so they can be easily removed without ruining the look of the dress. Thank you!

Really gorgeous dress - stunning colours, very well made and good quality material. I bought this to wear out in the evening, but might even wear it to a spring wedding.I'll have to have the hips taken in slightly (have to order for large bust), but that's fine. On some dresses/blouses I've ordered in the past from Boden, the neckline is too low, but this is perfect. A bargain at the sale price - would have ordered another colour if they still had my size. And, unlike other customers, I like the beads!

I ordered this in green in an 8 and purple in a 10.. I seem to be a little between sizes in boden but have kept the 10 and am ordering another in the same size. The green is very GREEN not sagey as it appears on the illustration. I didn't like the beads at first and thought they looked cheap but teamed the purple dress with a mustard yellow cardi that goes with the beads and it looks fab.

Managed to pick up this dress in green in the sale - a great price for a beautiful dress. As others have said it's not turquoise (as it looks on the website) but a vibrant emerald green. 12L fits really well and just covers my knees (not my best feature!). It also got the thumbs up from my teenage daughters. From reading the reviews there's some controversy about the beading however my style guru daughters assure me that the beads look good.

Very good quality, lovely bold design but once again the dreaded Boden beads! I thought they were less noticeable in the red option but the first thing my daughter said when she saw me in it was "nice dress, but the beads look cheap". Weighing it all up I've decided to keep the dress, it's a flattering fit and looks good.

Bought the purple in size 10 Regular. I am between a 10 and 12 usually but this dress fits like a glove and looks stunning on. I am only short and this dress falls at the knee. Perfect. This dress I think can be worn for many occassions and its timeless design means it should - hopefully - get plenty of wear for years to come.

A go anywhere dress except gardening! I did not purchase in the sale so wish I had waited as this is perfect. Figure skimming on a curvey figure, very flattering, and with a little stretch the perfect combination. The beads are plastic, but I often buy Boden for the little extra Bodenesque touches! Unfortunately I have noticed that colours of the some of the trims dont quite work in a classical way, but I think the secret is to pick up the clashing ot jarring colour with an accessory shrug cardigan scarf bracelet shoes etc and suddeny it looks expensive!
