I use this dress on days . I like the design and the comfort of this dress. But it lost shape an look really not very nice after beeing washed a few times. I like the colour!

This is a lovely dress, which really flattered my shape. Good neckline (not too low, not too high) and lovely silk decoration around the neck. Soft fabric that lays well over the lining and hangs well on all sides! I have what might be described as a 'fuller figure', and the style works well for me. Interesting to see that it's all the larger sizes that have sold out in this style... One of the few occaisions when I haven't had to retun a dress, as often I find Boden dresses are a little too snugly fitting for me. Very pleased with this dress and bought two. I have this in both fig and black.

I ordered this in 2 colours - mallard and purple.

I hadn't realised the purple was really burgundy - not my colour AND old school uniform so can't wear it.

The mallard is absolutely my favourite colour ever, and I have kept it because it looks great from the front and is a beautiful colour. However - there is a bit too much fabric and although that's flattering at the front if you have a bit of flab to hide, it doesn't work at the back where there are gathers in the middle.

From the side this isn't slimming (the shape of the perfect jersey dress is much better as there's a bit of give at the front but it hangs better at the back).

If I hadn't had a cardigan in just the right shade of brown to wear over this I might not have kept it but can't resist it for the colour!

I buy at least two dresses each season from Boden and always love them, but this one just isn't doing it for me. Like other reviewers have stated, it just seems to hang and also the dress arrived very creased and even after hanging for a few days the creases have not dropped out. I like dresses that will travel well and this is just not one of them. Sorry, but this is going back.

I had high hopes for this dress but agree with another reviewer that there is too much fabric under the bust area. Perhaps it would work if the material was heavier? When my parcel arrived it seemed inconceivable that there was a whole dress inside! Neckline is beautiful though. Something like this,a little heavier, perhaps more fitted under the bust, and with a side zip to allow for this might be nice?Afraid I wouldn't keep this even if it was half the price.

I just can't make up my mind about this dress. I have now sized down from my usual 12 to a 10, as I thought it hung oddly from the waist down, and it certainly is a more flattering fit, but I am just not sure it's got the "it" factor, and it is expensive, despite buying it with 20% off. The neck is good, the colour is lovely (claret), it is just not very well styled - it kind of hangs from the under bust line without enough shaping around the rib cage. The material feels lovely, but it is quite fine and thin. I really want to like it (mainly for the lovely colour) but I'm just not sure that I will keep it.

I bought this in an 8 long in fig. In the photo it looks brown and I was really really hoping it would be. When I took it out of the bag it was purple so I was a bit disappointed BUT in bright light this looks purple and in the evening it is brown - hoorah, two dresses for the price of one. I am pear shaped and this dress looked good on me. It is certainly one where I would consider another colourway but will have to wait until the sale. Has Boden ever considered a promotion whereby if you buy an item in one colour you can get a second colour at a discounted price?

Material is nice and light and the mallard colour pleasant enough. But very disappointed with overall look on me (5'9'', Size 22). Not only is it frumpily long, even though I'm tall, but had to agree with my husband that whole effect was matronly/mumsy. Even the would-be funky silk trim didn't redeem it.

I do have other Boden empire line dresses and tunics I like and maybe this one would look a lot better on someone without a large bust, but am returning.
