This dress is a great shape and very flattering, especially if you are small busted...But the fabric is awful, not sure why it is called Jersey dress when it made of viscose and elastane - it feels like nylon, reminding me of some of the awful nylon things we had to wear as children in the 70s! I am used to cotton and linen stuff and don't go for man made ususally. I can't imagine how you would smell on a hot summers day if you were wearing this! The original price does not reflect the man made material. I am an 8-10 but the 8 was really comfy so think it comes up slightly big.

I loved this dress. It fitted beautifully and looked great. The empire waist isn't for everyone but was very flattering on me. I had loads of compliments the one time I wore it. I washed it (in the machine on cold, inside out, in a lingerie bag, air dried) and it lost all body, hung limply, came up in tiny, twisted wrinkles all over and - worst of all - was covered in white marks.[...]

Good jersey dress. The blue colour is a lovely colour, not too bright. Found the dress too long for me at 5ft 6 so had to take it up by adding three horizontal pleats in at the hem which actually give it a bit more weight and design. Find the neckline a bit too revealing so may have to wear a camisole underneath it. Could have done with a lining as shows underwear lines.

I needed a simple black dress for casual and work wear and hoped this would become a wardrobe basic. It might for some but not for me. At 5'5" it was several inches below the knee (not flattering in flats); the overall fit was good BUT oh dear those awful front gathering pleaty things - I looked heavily pregnant (even my daughter asked whether I had something to tell her!). This dress is so not flattering, it is going back without even a moment's regret.

There are two things that stopped this dress getting full stars... the neckline is just a little too revealing and the absence of suitable lining. Other than this I am not able to fault it. I am 5' 0" and purchased the regular length. I needed to shorten a little for the length to be as I like it.
