Waiting for an exchange to arrive as dress seam undoing above zip, under arm; thought I was imagining it but see another comment (13/8/11) about dress smelling of cigarette smoke.Like the colour, mallard, the reason I ordered it but is a bit of a washed out look and actually hoped it would be a bit more green. This dress could so easily be superb if basic faults that people have mentioned had been ironed out - literally!!
Not sure at reduced price so a non starter at full price.

I bought this in Mallard in the sale as I have a couple of the cord long sleeved dresses and wear them lots at the weekend for messing around with the kids. This was rather disapointing though as it is nothing like the turquoise in the photo, its really very green and the velvet is so brushed that the overall effect looks a bit like surgeons scrubs. Bit of a shame the photo is so different - a different manufacturer maybe?

Perfect dress for start of Aussie Winter! Pleasantly surprised by comfort and look of this dress which I plan to wear with thick tights and boots. The term "Velvet" should be interpreted loosely. I would say this is more like moleskin... But both colors (I ordered mallard and grape) are really great and suit my auburn hair colour (and are true to the screen colour). As other reviewers have commented this can be dressed up or down. No problems getting it on or off and lining should stop it riding up. I can see myself wearing both these dresses continuously! Nothing like this in the shops over here! Also sale price compared to $ merchandise here is a no brainer!

Such a shame...I'd almost ordered this dress about 5 times so was delighted to see it reduced in the sale. However, when I tried it on it was most unflattering around the "trunk" - it really didn't show off my figure and sideways on made me look really chunky (I'm a textbook size 12). Strangely, even though I'm only 5'8" the regular length was way too short (and I do wear stuff short so only tend to order "tall" for trousers).

I HAVE TWO OF THESE LOVELY DRESSES, BOTH WEAR AND WASH AND IRON PLEASINGLY.
CAN BEEN DRESSED UP OR DOWN AND FEEL SO LOVELY AND SMART YET COMFORTABLE WHEN I WEAR THEM!
THEY TRUE TO SIZE.

I've trying to work out my size in boden dresses or skirts. I'm tall and have long legs but chunky bottom half with slim top half.
I bought this in UK14L and UK12L.
UK12L was too short and too tight round my bottom. 14L dwarfed me. Sending both back.
But the Turquoise colour was lovely!

Bought this dress in the sale in heather. Fits well but a bit shorter than I expected. Have worn it for a day out gallery visiting/lunch and felt very smart but also comfortable. Neckline is flattering - different and not too plunging.
