A truly beautiful dress, I have never had so many compliments! I bought it in red for a Christmas party. It survived being scrunched up in my bag the day after and after hanging up for a couple of hours was ready to party again. I felt really comfortable in it, fitted really well and perfect length (long and I`m 5ft 6in)Because of the beading I didn`t have to find co-ordinating jewellery either. Probably the best dress I have ever bought!

I had my eye on this dress for the staff do, however thought it was a tad expensive. But after trying various other outfits, and armed with a discount I took the plunge.

It is a lovely dress, very simple in design, classy without being too OTT. The fit is lovely, I ordered my usual 10L, however I will need to wear smooth underwear to avoid bumpage. I am tall and the empire line did sit on my ribcage, under my bust.

It is an expensive dress for what it is, an unlined, heavy jersey pull on dress. However for me it ticked all the boxes, looked fab, fitted well and could be worn on lots of occasions...so it stayed!

Ordered the blue dress & it arrived wonderfully quickly. As other reviewers have said, the fit is great - 4.5 stars for that as it was a good & flattering fit everywhere apart from the armholes which gape a little - this should be easily fixed. However, this is a sleeveless winter dress & I therefore expect to wear it with a cardigan or stole at some point - I don't have any cover-up that would not be at risk of damage from the flower petal beads that stick out significantly around the neckline and would catch and probably tear anything lacy. I have a Boden beaded summer dress on which the beads lay flat - no problem - with this winter dress I think I would struggle to fasten a seatbelt correctly.

sorry but this dress far is too overpriced, even for Boden's customary high prices. It is basically a heavyweight jersey dress made in China, unlined, with no zip, and with some very heavy beads on the neckline. Although lovely packaged, it was already very creased when it arrived so if I was to sit down in it, it would immediately end up looking very scruffy indeed.

As for the fit and design, I got from the website photos the impression that the dress would have an empire-line detail but no, unless you are very very tall the under-bust seam is in fact very close (or right on) the waist. Also, if your bra size is anything over a C cup, the dress will be too tight on the bust and baggy on the bottom.

The only thing I liked is the colour, the red one is a lovely true scarlet red. Mine is going straight back, not at all impressed.

I brought this dress because I wanted a red dress for Christmas and this seemed to fit the bill. I could see that this colour was going out of stock so thought I better hurry. I can often get away with a Boden 14 in dresses but went for the 16L as although only 5.3 at my age wanted it to cover my knees. The colour is fantastic and the 14 would have been too clingy. Only criticism is that the armholes gape a little but as I will be wearing it with a black shrug this can be overlooked. Its still worth keeping for the colour. Looking forward to Christmas now.

this is an absolute must for the christmas outings.i am 5ft 7" and i bought the 14 long which sits just below the knee.it skims where it needs and is great because there isnt a zip in sight.well done johnny boden....a dress for us curvey girls
