This was purchased for my works Christmas Party and was one of the most comfortable and beautiful dresses I have ever worn. I loved it despite the difficulty getting it on and off due to the zip design. Sadly it fell to pieces as my evening progressed. One strap frayed and became almost detached on the front of the dress and the other strap did the same but on the other side at the back (so a kind person informed me!). I contacted Boden and was sent a replacement immediately but I have ummed and ahhed for a couple of weeks and despite still loving the dress so much, feel I must return it as I can already see signs on the unworn dress that not enough length of the straps have been sewn in to the material meaning that exactly the same problem will occur. I feel so sad as the dress fits perfectly, looks fab and feels so luxurious. [...]

This is a lovely dress except for the deal breaker - it's too short! I am 5'7" - so not that tall and certainly ( I imagine) not as tall as the model on whom the dress reaches to the middle of her knees -but this dress finishes about 2 inches above my knees. I am curvy with quite a large bust so the top of the dress is very flattering, if a little cleavage revealing. On the basis that an elegant woman (which is what I aspire to be!) should reveal either her legs or her cleavage i will be forced to return this lovely dress. If I was shorter or the dress was longer or I was younger then it would be a keeper - the fabric is beautiful and the shape is super flattering. Well worth a try though, especially at the sale price.

Such a shame - lovely style, beautifully made but goodness knows who it would fit well! The length was just a bit too short, the waist was ok fitting, but the bow on the front didn't lie flat and whole bust area was squashed and mis-shapen.It was gappy under the arms so a bigger size would not have fitted better. It might suit 5'11" flat chested Amazonians but not a 5'6" standard shaped Londoner. Still sad about this.

Straps needed shortening a little. Otherwise a perfect fit! Amazing! I am very petite (4' 11) and so ordered a size 6. It's a little tricky to get off as the side zip doesnt go all the way to top of the dress. Have never bought Boden before - certainly will again.

I bought a few of these as possible bridesmaids dresses - and when they arrived they're even prettier than the pic in my opinion (lovely colour and very well made). Disagree with one of the reviews below though - my sister and friend who are usually a size 8-10 were both absolutely swamped by the size 8, particularly on top, so I'm going to need to order a couple in size 6 now! Also, the strap on the left hand side on the one dress that fit my other friend seems to be sewn further in towards the centre than the one on the right hand side, meaning her bra was showing on one side - not sure if it's just that particular dress or whether they're designed that way but it did look a little bit odd…

I ordered this dress in the green and looked forward to it arriving.
What a disappointment though. I have to thoroughly agree with the two other reviews - the fit was awful. So tight. I usually wear Boden 14 regular and most dresses over the years have been true to size. A 14 is always just slightly too big over my hips but with a quick sewing alteration to the side seams, the end result is a perfect fit for me.

This dress however, felt as if it was not the usual Boden garment. It was tight to pull over the head (could not step into it) the side zip was tight to pull up and I panicked about getting makeup on it.
The bust was so tight it flattened me and the hip area was very uncomfortable.
Took this one off very quickly I can tell you - not flattering at all.

Which is a shame because the colour was absolutely stunning - true to the picture and the material is fabulous. What a let down.
Never mind - have to choose another!

This is a wonderful dress, but being a pear shape the folds at the front are not for me. Unless I stand absolutely straight the dress sits on my hips and creates a fold that looks like a big tummy. So- not for you if you are small on the top with bigger hips!

This is a beautiful dress but agree with previous reviewer: it would look better in the smaller sizes! I ordered a 14 and at 5'6" I'm about average height but the dress looked too short and boxy. The hem ended just on the knee ~if it had been a little longer, this would have lengthened the whole dress and looked stunning. Please Boden make your short dresses with a choice of hemline lengths,just under the knee for ladies of a certain age!!

Love the colour, love the dress but it just didn't look right on me. I think this dress would look good on size 10 but at 5 feet 10inches and size 14 it does not flatter.
Also please Boden change the side zip, it is hard to get this dress off without damaging a shoulder or getting make up on it.
