This dress should be great - the fabric is lovely with a beautiful sheen and drape - and would be wonderful for a special occasion dress if the design was right.
Sadly the design is terrible. I am a huge fan of Boden dresses and this is the first disaster I have had. The bust area is shapeless, the waist too baggy and way too tight across the hips and thighs. Oh and it is too short. It looks absolutely awful on.

This is a lovely dress and the colour, Berry, was more deep Rose pink but really nice. My trouble with it was round the armholes, which gaped a lot and was rather baggy round the bust. I am a Boden 14 and I don't usually have a problem with the bust fitting. Great shame as I really wanted it but, sadly its going back.

This is a gorgeous dress, but the sizing is all wrong! Just like other reviewers have said, if it fits in one place, it certainly doesn't in others!! I am always a Boden 12L, but sized up because of the reviews I'd read. Bust wise, the dress was spot on, but it gaped around the ribcage, so the gathered bit looked completely wrong. There just wasn't enough of the skirt bit. Gorgeous fabric, and styled as if it was going to be quite full, but on the contrary, it was tight around my thighs, not skin tight but tight enough to look bad. It's as if the dressmaker got a couple of sizes mixed up, and put a 12 top on a ten bottom! Such a pity, it was going to be my Christmas dress, but it had to go back!

So disappointed when I tried this dress on in the berry colour. It looked fantastic, lovely fabric and great colour, but when I got it on, all was not well! The top half was great and looked fine, but the skirt part was so wrong on me! Very baggy around the stomach and back (I looked 6 months pregnant!) and very tight on the hips and thighs. Such a shame as I'd high hopes for this dress. Why not make it a more floaty skirt and also in a longer length for those of us who'd rather not show off too much leg above the knee!!

This is a really beautiful dress, but I sized up to a 16, and have had the top altered to fit. I thought that the style was flattering, but possibly a bit too full over the stomach. Otherwise, it was perfect. The colour is beautiful and the fabric lovely. Ideal for a night out.

After reading the other reviews, I chose the bigger of my usual two sizes and found the dress fitted very well. The pinkish-red is absolutely beautiful: a warm and flattering colour on a blonde. This and the soft feel of the velvet make it an extremely feminine dress. My only concern is that the fabric feels a little flimsy, and I fear that it might be quite fragile.

Having read the other reviews, I bought a 12 as well as my usual 10 but the 10 fitted perfectly. I imagine if one was actually a 10/12 it might be tight... the fit is quite snug around the ribcage under the bust.
