This jacket is a gorgeous style, fits lovely and is warm. But there is one major problem - but going by the reviews only I seem to be having it! It picks up fluff terribly because it sticks the waterproof covering. You can remove some of it with cello tape/lint remover but not all of it. It isn't as if I am wearing fluffy jumpers or anything it is just day to day life with the kids. No way can you wear a scarf. It just looks a mess and I'm sick of people trying to 'brush me down'.

As mentioned previously by others the belt is a pain too, but I just tie it at the back.

Boden have given me a professional cleaner's number so we'll see what he says - but it isn't that it's dirty - just fluffy!

Having just unpacked my lovely jacket I felt I had to write a review . I have purchased one of these jackets over the last couple of years and have to say this one is a great improvement.The quilting makes it feel much warmer and softer to wear, I also feel that this years is slightly longer with the waist in a better place.The belt is longer so that it can be tied now, overall a great warm jacket , I feel it's true to size , I ordered the black 14 My only negative is that I find it attracts fluff, from woolly scarves etc, but not really a problem

A lovely jacket but I don't like belts so I have taken off the belt ties and removed the belt. The fit and style looks terrific minus the belt!

I bought last year's version of this in size 8 black, which I love. This year I wanted a more vibrant colour and bought the same size in orange. The fit is completely different, even taking into account the padding. The body is looser and the sleeves are huge. I look a bit like the Michelin Man in this. I tried a size 6 (definitely not my size normally) in another colour in the shop and it is the same as last year's 8. Sadly, no orange 6's left, so I will have to send this back.

Bottom line: I appreciate you need to tweak designs according to customer response, but if the updated version is to be so different in fit please highlight this in the description (eg "a roomier fit compared to last year") so that those of us who are true to size know to go for a smaller size or to purchase 2 with a view to sending 1 back before they sell out!

Was not sure if this would suit me but hubby thought it would. Very pleased when it arrived. Looks lovely on (in the brown) and can be worn with almost anything. Also looks good with a chunky scarf. The only thing I would warn people about is that I find it very hot to wear sometimes, but perhaps this is a good thing now Winter is fast approaching. Excellent buy and a Jacket that will last and look even better with age.

After reading other reviews I ordered a size up from normal to be able to wear warm clothes underneath. I am quite flat chested and not hippy but still found the 14 close fitting. The jacket is comfortable to wear(I agree the belt is a pain) and the green is vibrant which I love! On a recent street outreach in the wind and rain for an hour(in Stornoway) this jacket kept me warm and dry!!

I wanted a jacket that would look smart on school run/walks in the countryside but which was comfortable and warm. This ticks all the boxes. The quilted lining is definitely a plus and it seems pretty waterproof too. Very pleased all round.

Having read all the other reviews I was convinced that I would love this jacket. But the styling and fit doesn't quite work for me. I ordered my usual size 10 and tried it on with anticipation. The jacket fitted OK with room to spare and I was pleased with the nice padded lining. I also love the general styling of the jacket. But the big disappointments were the collar, cuffs and buttons. The collar is quite 'thin' and had a strange habit of folding over on one side which meant it did not sit right. Whilst the sleeves seem to be in proportion to the rest of the jacket, the cuffs are huge and baggy. Worst of all is the belt which is very long and only has two very big belt loops. So when the jacket is unbelted there is a danger of loosing the belt altogether, and then the belt is done up there is about a foot of excess belt which you have to tuck away somewhere. And whilst I don't mind a bit of branding, do all of the buttons really need to have 'Boden' written quite so obviously across them? So sadly it is going back.

I ordered this in the orange, and although the coat felt comfortable, was a good, if slightly snug fit, and was warm and a good weight for autumn, I just couldn't cope with the orange. If this had been available in another warmer colour, red, purple, burgundy, etc. I'm sure I'd have been sold. But the colours were either too drab or too bright.

Had this jacket in red/tomato last year,but got the brown version this year.I liked the bigger pockets and the zip on the sleeves on the original red one.quite cool.This years' rather more functional,but ok,and belt is longer. Good tough fabric,suitable to an outdoor lifestyle,my only quibble was that the first brown jacket I ordered came missing a collar stud,so just a bit wary of further studs falling off.
