I adore this jacket. It just looks so lovely on and is perfect to wear with jeans out to dinner or over a dress. It feels beautiful on. I am quite broad across the shoulders and have above average boobage and the 14 fits me perfectly. The Aubergine is a lovely dark greyish purple but mostly grey. It is less purple than I thought it would be, but that is not a bad thing!

Ok, so I have the long velvet jacket in the same colour, but who cares! They are quite different but both fab. This jacket is so comfortable and looks great. Slimming (my husband says) and will instantly make you look like you have made a huge effort. True to size and will be useful for years to come!

I have now worn this jacket twice. Once to dress up jeans and once with a silk dress for OH's staff Christmas meal. Both times very much complimented. I am generally a size 10 petite. This jacket, which I purchased in a standard size 10 - black, fits well. Sleeves a tad long, but looks fine and if didn't I would shorten them. Didn't give a 5 because would have loved in petite sizing: Sorry Boden.

This really is THE jacket,great fit true to size and good across the shoulders although I am broad,so others may find it generous.This would look stylish and elegant with a dress or stylish and trendy with leather trousers for example.A definate keeper

Wore this to my 1st two Christmas parties last weekend and it was perfect! Also for matinee at the Young Vic. Truly a dress down or up item and aubergine is a fantastic colour to co-ordinate with dark denim, navy, black and chocolate. Also with last year's shoe boots and sequin trim scarf, which are still favourites, so many thanks for that in these straightened financial times JB!

This is an absolutely beautiful jacket, it was on this Morning and it looked amazing on the model. Great for nights out or a more dressed up lunch, fab coulours, it's a must have.

I ordered this in black and the velvet tux (black) at the same time to choose between them and this won hands down (I found tux to have stiff fabric and slightly frumpy look).
This velvet party jacket is a lovely soft slinky, chic velvet with gorgeous silky spot lining. The fit is perfect, being slightly cropped but with long sleeves gives it an edgy look, and the ruffles add stylish interest. I am a size 14 and this fits true to size, I am tall with long arms and the sleeve length is perfect. It looks lovely with shift dresses and adds a funky finish to skinny jeans and tunic outfits. Although pricey I feel it is definitely worth the price as it is well cut and well made and a good fifty per cent cheaper than similar jackets at high-end high street level. Wish there was a mole/brown version then I would buy that too!

I chose the aubergine, which is a gorgeous dark shade. It's really sumptuous and will add a touch of glamour to any evening outfit!

The material feels lovely and slinky as you slide it off its hanger and it's comfortable to wear, but my normal size 8 is too big. It's generous on the shoulders, the sleeves and the body generally - I should have checked the measurements more carefully before I ordered as I've had the same problem with some other Boden jackets in recent years. I shall exchange it for a 6 and hope that fits.

The body is quite short but the sleeves are very long - halfway down my hands - adding to the impression that I've borrowed the jacket from someone larger. I've had several Boden jackets where I've had to shorten the sleeves but I'd be more reluctant to tackle these - there's a greater chance of spoiling the finish with this lovely velvet than with a tweed or cotton - but I will if they're still too long on the 6.

Bought this to go over my festive season party dress and it ticks all the boxes- stylish, comfortable, great length, soft fabric. I'm sure I could also wear this with jeans.....
