... because it fits me; there's even a bit of room at the crown to pull it down further if I wanted. I'm only 5ft tall so I probably have a smaller than average head. I've never bought a hat from Boden before so I can't comment on the quality compared to previous years. I bought the raisin stripe to go with the scarf and gloves and they make a nice, not too "matchy" set for weekends.

No need to write a lengthy description here, unfortunately other reviewers have said it all. Not as soft and flattering as previous years hat and scarf sets (cable and bobble, basket etc..), very thin and itchy wool mix, the hat fit my 3 years old!! I bought the fennel and pink set, the beret is going back, I am still in two minds about the scarf, it is a lovely pattern (though I do agree about the "unfinished" look), but can only wear it around a rollneck jumper, as I find the material too itchy!!
Please, Johnnie, bring back past versions of these beret and scarf sets!!

i have soo loved the autumn hat and scarf combos in the past from you johnnie...brighten the school runs in the wet cold mornings and disguises my "just out of bed " slummy mummy hair!!
i was very disappointed to receive this years offering( i had ordered 2 different patterns to choose from in high anticpation )
sadly not to be for me :-(
as previously sad wool itchy,and the hat was soooooo small it looked like it was just perched on the very top of my head,not a good look! and for the record even with long hair this hat didnt cut it.
last years beret was snug,the previous autumn bobbly hat was spot on..just hope next years reverts to that style...or this slummy mummy will need to be up extra early in the morning to fix her hair before the school run :-(

Disappointing hat and matching scarf.
Fun patterns but hat is quite a tight fit and very unflattering, while scarf is itchy and not wide enough. First year I have had to send back these items.

I very much liked the "silver spots" which are actually navy spots and ordered hat, gloves and scarf. Unfortunately, this years version is- for a change- not like a beret, but sits quite tightly on the top of my head. It just does not look good on my fairly short hair, despiteit being a little longer in the back. I cannot pull it further down into my face, either, because then, it interferes with my glasses. Also, it ruins my hairdo a little too much by pushing my hair down. Too bad! -I liked every other aspect of it.
By the way: the scarf is only patterned on one side, but I would have put up with that.
