At first, I loved this bag - it looked good and made a change from my other handbags, whch always end up full of rubbish and are heavy to lug around. However, after approx. 2 weeks of use - and only actually takng it out two or three times - the handle has broken completely. The handle is attached to the bag by large brass hoops, and one of the screws from one of these hoops has fallen out, with the result that the bag is now useless.
SO disappointed....maybe I was unlucky and got one substandard bag, but unfortunately I am unable to find out by trying an alternative, as the bag is now sold out. Don't know whether to return or try and get it fixed, but all in all a great disappointment.

A great looking bag and I love it in pewter but so disappointing, like other reviewers without warning the screws dropped out of first one and then the other O rings; I only had a light purse in there! not the quality I would expect, shame.

I have just taken receipt of my second bag (brown -- already have the green) and have to say I'm very disappointed about the quality consistency. There is a clear fault with the bag lining and it seems to be too large for the bag. Nothing I do seems to stop the lining from protruding though the holes which house the belt loops. Overall the bag styling, dimensions and design are great. The bag seems to have been redesigned compared to early reviews and the loop to which the strap attaches has been welded shut. The bag would be great if it was not for the problem with the lining. On close inspection of my existing green bag, it is also clear that the lining is too large for the bag but the problem is not so obvious. I'm returning the brown bag

I had my eye on this bag for ages and was delighted when it actually was on sale. I loved the colour (pewter) & the size BUT within 24 hours the clasp came undone twice, leaving the bag hanging off me, and then one of the tiny screws fell out of the O ring. I had to send it back - sadly. Come on Boden, lets see a better quality version next season.

Great size and perfect colour in the pewter metallic with the ability to appear grey if worn with black, and brown if worn with brown (magic!). However the large metal rings which hold the strap have both just collapsed. There is a small screw holing the pieces of the circles together and these have fallen out on both sides. This after only a couple of weeks of occasional weekend use. [...]At the moment I have made a temporary repair with safety pins - classy it is not!

Received this bag about a week ago and love it. Ordered in pewter which is a lovely muted colour and size is perfect, not too big or too small. However, had read reviews mentioning the clasp which holds the shoulder strap on coming undone, only to find today that one of the screws holding the ring that the strap clasp attaches to had fallen out, so ring had come apart. Checked the other screws and all very loose. Bag is out of stock now so my husband managed to find a similar screw to fix it but not what one expects after less than a week of use.

I bought this in the sale, I ordered the pewter colour which looked quite silvery in the picture, I've been looking for a pewter/silver bag for sometime to go with some summer shoes i have. I am dissapointed with the colour, it is almost beige, infact I initially thought they had sent the wrong colour. I like the bag style, it is compact and will be good for holidays etc. However i'm in two minds as to whether i send it back due to the colour.

I was concerned about the clasp issues mentioned but I couldn't make the strap come away however hard I tried. The colours are true to the web pictures but the green may be a bit brighter. The brown doesn't seem dowdy as previously described. I liked both the green and brown so much that I'm keeping them both. The size is fine- will fit a bottle of water, apple, purse and phone easily and as a bonus would also work as an ipad case! Fab all round.

Bought this bag in the clearance sale, first item i have bought from Boden in ages & never really gave this bag a second glance due to the original price. I ordered the green one of these, i was unsure of what shade of green it would be as 2 shades are shown on the website, it is the shade shown in the picture selection underneath which is what i was hoping it would be! a gorgeous deep grass green, which happens to be one of my favourite colours. The leather is lovely good quality & soft & supple yet thick & sturdy at the same time. There is no problem with my strap loops & can't see how there would be but i think maybe Boden have seen to the problem which other reviewers have mentioned. The lining is just as great & very funky! It also came in it's own lovely dust bag which is a bonus seeing as i have lots of bags!!! A FAB BARGAIN & A MUST HAVE BAG-really useful for everyday use-GET ONE BEFORE THEY'RE GONE!
