just bought this jacket in navy and was initially not too sure about the construction with it not being lined.However after wearing the jacket I found it to be a very comfortable fit,smart, lightweight and warm. Boden do explain the casual use and design of this jacket and it provides a casual but smart look. Only negative I found was that the jacket arrived a little creased and due to it not being lined and unstructured it may put some people off.The creases do come out and the jacket looks good but this is something that should be improved.

I was almost put off buying this by some of the earlier reviews; how glad am I that I went ahead? This is an absolutely lovely jacket. I bought the 38R in grey, for work, and it feels like it was made for me by a bespoke tailor. The cut is supremely flattering and bang on trend right now, having two buttons but with short lapels, like a three-button coat. The fabric is gorgeous and woven in Yorkshire by Moon Mills. Despite the fact that this is unlined (not a problem for me as the tweed is very warm and soft), the finishing and attention to detail are impressive, from the spotty pocket-lining to the 'Boden' engraved buttons and functioning cuffs. I have several other tweeds, from pricier rival stores, and this takes pride of place in my collection (especially being a darn sight cheaper). Well done Boden!

Surprised to read some of the other reviews of this jacket. I have bought many new / vintage tweed jackets over the years and this one has completely met expectations as an affordable, unlined, boiled wool variant. Perfect for slightly less formal wear - and has a nice whiff of Ivy League about it. Equally, the sizing is perfect for me - I am a slim 38" chest, around 5ft 11", and the 38 Long fits perfectly. I particularly like the slim sleeves.

This is my first Boden purchse for many years, having fallen out of love with the boxy cut of previous items. I am still cautious, but this jacket has certainly sparked my interest in the brand once more.

Are you tall? If you're getting the long version of this, I'd assume, like me, you must be. [...]For some reason, Boden has supplied it with short sleeves. These are, in turn, attached a little more to the front than they should be.It's like putting on a straitjacket.Everything else - barring the cheapo lack of lining - is great. But it's unwearably badly cut. Shocking, frankly.I've spent many hundreds - perhaps thousands - of pounds with Boden over the years. It's a shame that, over the last two seasons, they have ceased to make clothes that actually fit tall men. They seem not to want my money. Oh well.Avoid.

The jacket looks smart, from the front. However, it is unlined and itchy, which seems rather penny pinching . The back of the jacket is poorly tailored and features a stitching at the bottom of the jacket more in keeping with a donkey jacket. A missed opportunity.
