Bought the blue butterfly for my daughter, excellent at sale price. It is much bluer than in the picture, even so my daughter loved the butterfly on the front,she wore it straight away to a birthday party & still has it on now! Not sure how it will wash but a bargain at the price compared to what you could get at other shops for the equilavent price.

When we first received this top (butterfly) I was very happy with it. Daughter loved it! No problems with the sequins on this one. But, after washing it carefully a couple of times it has completely lost it's shape. It now looks terrible and baggy like a sack. Not good Boden. Going back.

The sequins were not attached well and after one wash look poor quality.that said, it is a loved top by my daughter.

We waited so long for this top to arrive and after reading some of the reviews I thought I might be sending it straight back. To my surprize it's lovely!! My daughter is nearly 8yrs and the 7-8 is a perfect fit. We got the butterfly which I would say was more of a peacock blue than aqua but still very pretty and the sequins seem fine.

I wasn't initally disappointed with this shirt. I didn't expect it to be sparkly. What does bother me is the fit is really wide - not sure how they have it so slim looking on the model. I liked it enough to keep it.
But now after 2 washes (inside out & laying flat to dry) the fabric has lost its shape, the velvet neck trim is wrinkly and weird, and the sequins have loose threads sticking out everywhere and some sequins have fallen off.
My rainbow shirt from a few seasons ago has been worn and washed dozens of times and looks like the day I bought it. This one wasn't as good right from the start even for looks, and definitely not as good quality wise.

I was really surprised to read the negative comments about this top. I bought the pink for my 5 year old daughter. She absolutely loves it. True to size (bought 5-6) although the sleeves are on the long side. The sequins on our top are absolutely fine. I washed it inside out on a delicate wash (and come on, what else would you expect with a top with all those sequins on!)and it looked as good as new. About to order one in another colour!

Really disappointed with this top, the sequins were fine, I ordered 7/8 for my tall 5 year old the body was fine but the sleeves a little long but that was ok, however 2 washes later it has lost it's shape and is massive on her. She put it on yesterday and looked such a mess, as it was huge on her I made her change before we went out! Not what I expect from Boden, I wonder if the sequins are too heavy for the fairly thin fabric? Not happy at all with this purchase.

Got this in two colours, the shoes were pretty but unraveled after the first wash have to return. Butterfly has fared better but the colour isn't very flattering in the hand, also the velvet trim looks a little worn already and its only been washed twice. Sadly disappointed.

I don't really get all the negative reviews for this top. The sequins on ours are perferct, and we would expect it to need a delicate wash and be hung to dry with all the sequins- what do people expect?? I love the velvet trim this year, makes it more dressy and and the translucent sequins on the butterfly are lovely. The cotton is the standard, lovely thick Boden-type which is why we prefer the tops to cheaper tops from elsewhere. Sizing is good too- bought 5-6 for small 6 year old and it fits nice and has a little room for growing as well.
