This an example of a one of Johnnies classic designs, with vibrant colours and a perfect fit! It ticks all the boxes! and can be worn for all occasions such as parties, casual wear, summer days and the winter, as it looks very flattering with tights and boots. BrillIant!

Well that's a shame, as I bought one for each of my four girls (aged 4 to 11) and the matching sequin-neckline t-shirt shown on the website hoping this would be the solution for a big family celebration in early Dec. The skirts are made from a strangely understated fabric considering they're aimed at winter occasion wear. The elasticated basque doesn't really work for any of their figures, whether tucking in or not. These skirts actually look a bit like something you might wear on the beach. They could do with some netting and a satin underskirt to give them more oomph. The colours are nice though. I think these are going to have to go back.

My daughter spotted this very quickly in the catalogue and now that it has arrived it is already a favourite. We bought the sage flower design - very versatile in that it can be worn with a vest top and sandals in summer or a long sleeve top (we bought the candy marl pointelle T-shirt), tights and boots in the winter. It can be dressed up for smarter occasions too. The fabric is lightweight but the skirt is lined in plain sage colour. It is never going to offer any winter warmth; the tights will have to do that job. The length is perfect - according to my 9 year old daughter and the deep elasticated waistband makes it comfortable to wear. I would recommend you buy one quickly before they all go - there is already a few weeks wait.

Bought the Sage pattern & it is a beautiful skirt. Very 'grown up' which appeals to my style conscious daughter. Will look great with tights & boots. Lovely with the pointelle marl tops in blue & pink. The only criticism I can make is that material is thinner than I expected (though it is lined). Bought the 7-8 for my almost 7 year old & the length is just about right. I have the usual problem that the waist is a bit too big (she is very skinny). Maybe Boden could consider doing slim & plus sizes?

My six year old daughter loves the skirt and finds it really easy to wear. We have dressed it up with sparkly tights or with boots for more casual wear. Teamed it with the pointelle marl t shirts in pink and blue. Will be great through the autumn and winter.

I bought this in a 3-4 for my skinny giraffe of a three year old in the grey with fuschia/blue flowers. Length ways its perfect and the lining underneath will make it weather appropriate for autumn. The elasticated waist is a little on the big side but I find this is a common problem across a number of brands with my thin child and at least it stayed up! Looks great on and she was running around very happily in the park with it on yesterday.

This is the second skirt of this range we have bought (purple blue yellow circles & sage green flowers) it is an excllent skirt and can be dressed up or dressed down 5 stars once again boden!
