I originally ordered the size 13/14 for my 'slim, tall, nearly 12 yr old' daughter in white, but had to send it back as you could have fitted two or three of her as it was so wide! The length, however, was exact. I decided to exchange it for the size below and tis is a better fit widthwise, but above the knee lengthways, so it won't last more than one Summer, which is a great shame as it is so pretty! Despite this, when I saw it in the sale, I decided to order the blue and was delighted with the colour, which is stronger than it appears in the photo and therefore more flattering. Imagine my disappointment when, upon my daughter deciding to wear it out to a family lunch at the weekend and only putting it on before getting in the car and having got out again, the stitching on the strap had unravelled and one side fallen down, to her great embarrassment. We had no choice but to pin it together and make- do, but I was disappointed with the quality of finish on the garment and having to face the returns process which I have not found as efficient of late.

Very disappointed with this dress. Lovely colour (blue)and fabric. Sized up for my tall 8yr old to 11-12. Length fine however, the bodice gaped and was far too big. Sized down and it still doesn't fit properly at the top. I also think the straps are far too thin to withstand regular wear and tear - so returned unfortunately, as it looks so nice in the pics

My tall slim daughter tried this on in age 9-10 which is a good length for her height but you could have got two of her in the bodice. we tried the size below but the problem was the same. This dress is not made for slim girls

My daughter loved the style, colour and fabric of this dress. It is really pretty. However when she tried it on it practically fell off her. The adjustable straps moved the dress up a little but the bodice barely covered the top half of her body. The dress was far too wide on top and the shirred elastic did nothing. My daughter is a slightly tall, slim almost 9 year old and we bought the 9-10 size. Going back which is such a shame...

I had such high hopes for this sweet little dress but I am sadly disappointed. The straps are a little narrower than I expected, but the back, which could have been cut to fit snugly just gaped and hung loose on my little girl. We ordered age 4-5 and she is 5 and 1/2 so it really should have fit better (she is petite and slim but over 110cm which is the recommended height for this size). If your girl is quite chunky I would go ahead and order, but not for slim/average girls.

lovely dress ordered in 4-5 as well as 5-6 as wasnt sure with the dual sizing as i normally by a 5 from boden. Ended up going with the age 4-5 as the elastic around the middle is quite big and gapped at the back where it crossed over on the bigger size. The straps can be unbuttoned to a different position so i was able to add more length which was good when going for the smaller size as i did not want this to effect the length. well done boden!
