Yes, the sizing is on the big side. Keeping the size 11-14 set ,but could probably have got away with a size smaller for my 12 year old. Warm, chunky, cozy set and the duck egg blue is a lovely colour. The bobble came off the hat on second wearing, but, given the hat is so large my 11 year old decided it looked better bobbleless so not a problem for us. Fantastic value in the sale.

I bought duck egg and a purple set for myself ( age 42 yrs!!) the age 11-14 yrs fit perfectly and I am average height/ build. I need to turn the hat back for neater fit as is supposed to be worn longer but I am not that trendy. The scarf is lovely, great length and very soft and cuddly, the mitts just fit too. Bargain price for a lovely set.

I ordered this set with apprehension, considering the negative reviews. I ordered the purple colour for my 11 year old daughter and it is gorgeous. Lovely quality, thick and warm and very stylish. I went with the biggest size and agree it is generous - but we just turn up the hat a bit more. It really is lovely - have no complaints at all and the set will be well used. Perhaps the only negative is the choice of colours - the yellow is truly hideous but perhaps a teal, dark red, charcoal or beige would have been nice.

My 7yo picked the mustard colour and I ordered M for her, probably could have got away with S as sizing is generous but the M fits and has plenty growing room so we'll stick with it. My daughter loves the set and it does look beautful on. Hesitantly paid sale price for this as she really did need a new scarf, I probably wouldn't buy this at full price though, simply couldn't justify it. It is lovely though and I'm sure she'll wear it to death.

I bought this in blue sz small for my 4yr old daughter. It was to go with her purple duffle coat from last yr collection! Beautiful colour and design but when I saw the hat, tried it on and it fitted my head I knew it was going to be too huge for my 4yr old. It looked ridiculous on her little head! I really loved it and so wanted it to fit her but had to send back

I ordered this set for my nearly 5 year old to go with her red and white fleece lined anorak. It does go really well and my daughter likes it. It is also very warm so does its job!
Just one niggle -the size! I would have ordered the M as last years Mini Boden hat and gloves set that I bought in S is tiny and my daughter can't get the hat on anymore! Fortunately I read a review which said that this set is big so I ordered the S and it is indeed enormous. The gloves fit fine with growing room but fine, the hat is too big and floppy really but looks quite cute but the scarf really is too long for my liking and I suspect it will annoy me (though my daughter won't care as it is nice and warm which is the most important thing I suppose!)

I'm getting quite fed up of inconsistant sizing in the Mini Boden range!!!

My advice would be to size down if possible but not to bother buying for a child under 5 unless she's really big for her age!

I would not recommend buying this set, as it is unbelievably big! I have sent it back. It was for my 3 year old daughter so I ordered 2-6 years. The sizing is so out it should be in the ladies section. Also I think the quality is very poor. It is soft, and a nice shade of blue! But dont waste your money.

I bought this set in the smallest size for my nearly five year old. The purple is a lovely deep colour and the knit is fabulously chunky. The mittens fit well, perhaps a bit big but then they're easier to put on. I'd plannned to keep the scarf for me as my daughter doesn't like things around her neck but as soon as she spied it I had no chance! I could however wear the hat, it's absolutely huge and either sticks up a long way making my daughter's head look a weird shape or it comes down past her chin! Doesn't really matter as my daughter refuses to wear any hat but seems to be a common Boden discrepency, both with kids' hats and bandanas. Maybe she just has a small head!
