Bought these for my 6yr old in size 7yr as perfect when rolled up and will easily get two years use from. Liked them so much that I returned to buy for my 19mth old in size 2yr and once again will get two years wear from. These are a heavy canvas so wearable from summer through to the winter days - absolutely perfect. They are also very hard wearing which for my boys is essential as is the fact they can pull them up and down without any help. I love the heavy hard wearing canvas material which is simply perfect for our English summers - ideal, but not so much if you were lucky enough to be visiting a tropical climate. 10 out of 10 easily for me.

Lovely trousers! My son has trouble with buttons...so these trousers with an elastic waist are absolutely ideal! Quite heavy material for summer.....but I live in Scotland...so again they are perfect! I would recommend sizing up....my son is by no means tall but at nearly 4, I ordered the age 5 and they are a great fit.

I love these because they look great and are hard-wearing and my totally-uninterested-in-fashion 8 year old boy loves them because they're comfy, dark and neither too scruffy nor too smart. A winner! Only criticism is that for an 8-year-old of 131 cm the 8-year-old size is fractionally short and the 9-year-old size is too long. As he's so skinny that the waist slips down the whole time, the length works out OK though!

We had these last year in each colour so am a bit annoyed they have gone over to camouflage this year as I hate it, so only leaves us ordering the slate and donkey. Interestingly they are fast selling out whereas the camouflage still available - so I can't be the only one Johnnie!

I do love them they are fabby - BUT! They are loads thicker than last year, different fabric. Last years were a decent quality cotton and were fab rolled up - these are more like a soft canvas and will be very hardwearing I can see - I can't however see them as being that great in warmer weather (as roll ups) as they are too thick for that. But quality second to none really.

I can see them being great in April/May on a walk when it seems chilly then that first sun catches you unaware and they will be ok rolled up then, but for summer, def not!

So basically, would love these in winter, but wished A. they were same fabric as last year and B. they were in checks or more plain colurs rather than horrible camouflage

But for a heavier weight trouser they are lovely and soft

Great boys trousers in hardwearing fabric. We got steel and the colour is a nice dark grey which will co-ordinate with most tops. They do have a slight washed look on the seams. This may be more obvious in this colour. The fit is a little generous on my tall (128cm) 6yr old. With the waist adjusted and the roll ups they are fine for now and I'm sure they will last well when re-adjusted. The cut is nice too. It is worth paying extra for Boden trousers such as these. They last much longer than cheaper ones even with rock climbing powersliding boys like mine! I would gladly buy another pair if needed.

As always a light-weight but firm fabric which stands the tests from young boys well, this is our 3rd year in a row buying them. I really wouldn't say that they're faded but we do love the camo prints and they hide the dirt well!

My son is only four years old but his size 4 summer cargos from last year are too tight in the waist and too short and generally small. So, this year I have sized-up to Size 6 and I think these ones may actually last him through the summer! They do need the drawstring (for the moment) and they are about an inch too long but watching how fast he grows I reckon by the time summer comes around they'll be perfect!
