I had high expectations for these short when I bought them for my just 3 year old son.
He is tall and slim for his age, although having bought the shorts just a couple of months ago, they are already an overly snug fit around the hips and waist.
The material is hard wearing, but unfortunately the button fastenings are too tight. I find it difficult to button at the waist, so it is impossible for little fingers to get to.
Unfortunately for us these have been a waste of money; it is impossible to let a newly toilet trained toddler wear them independently.

These shorts are fabulous quality! Really thick cotton, but wonderfully soft! Bought these in the storm colourway to go with the vintage tipped t and they look gorgeous together. The blue camo is fantastic and the blue colour is really strong although they do have a slighty faded look which I think will only get better with each wash and wear! One small niggle, the buttons are a bit stiff to do up, but this should hopefully become easier as the fabric softens up further through wear. The sizing is on the snugger size. My little boy is still wearing previous years' 2-3 sizes in some things, but as I lucky enough to nab these in the sale, I had to take the smallest size left, which was age 4 and I have to say they are fine on him. Would highly recommend these shorts, if you can get your hands on a pair! Only regretting I didn't manage to get a pair in the army green! Am still checking and hoping for a return!!

I bought these shorts for my 3 Boys , but was disappointed with the fit. I sized up but for two of my average sized boys they were still too tight on the waist.Also the buttons came off both the back pockets of my youngest sons pair on the second time of wearing , and there was only one spare button !! However , the Blue camoflauge design is great.

I purchased these for my son to wear in the Summer. Initially I purchased age 10 but the waist was far too small so I exchanged for an 11. The waist is still too small. Everything about them are fab APART from the waist. I am going to exchange again for a different style.

Admittedly all Boden childrens' wear is excellent quality , we have worn t shirts for years..BUT these shorts are utterly fab!!
Sturdy, stitched well, good colour and style. Bought age 12 even though my son is 11 because he is quite muscly and I was right to do so. Also bought the brown camouflage so he has 2 pairs. These will be worn until they literally fit no more, like all his other Boden clothes!!

My Son was really keen on these shorts but alas, not to be. They are really small! He is a tall 6 year old, but with the typical skinny waist. I couldn't get the size 7 up his legs and when the size 8 came they only just did up! He couldn't sit down! Then when we decided they were too snug and had to go back I really struggled to undo the button. Shame, as the lovely blue camo was a bit different to the normal camo shorts. Swapped for elasticated waist ones, which he fits in the size 7 with plenty of room.

Lovely classic Boden shorts.My son will be 6 next and the age six is a good fit with room for him to grow.(he is still wearing some of his Boden shorts age 3 for the third summer and they still look great!)Keep them coming!!

Fabulous shorts.... we ordered the blue and the brown camouflage pairs for both of our boys. (Aged 10 and 12). We have had these shorts previously and actually think that this seasons pairs are nicer than the last ones as the finish to the hems is much better. Previous pairs had a rough finish to them but these look much smarter. They are also not as baggy as past seasons. Both my boys fit into their aged clothes with Boden so I would say that these are true to size but that is just my opinion. You could size up as they have the elasticated waist which is a fabulous selling point.
My boys are delighted with these and love the camouflage print. A definite thumbs up from our house.
One additional thing that I have noticed whilst unpacking them is the attention to detail. The buttons say: Wear life out..... so cute. Boys will definitely give that a go.... Thanks Johnnie!

These are really great shorts. Sturdy and hardwearimg. We have two pairs again this year. They are designed to fade and look even better as they do. Although we needed to rtn and order up a size. Eg. I think only the smaller 3yr olds or 2yr olds would fit in the 3yr old size.
