Bought these for a ski trip in December for my three year old. He's small for his age and I went for age 3 - 4 and they will last him a couple of ski seasons.

He never complained about being cold and they washed well. We turned up the legs when he was out of ski boots and the inner lining hooked onto his snow boots meant snow didn't go up the legs.

I got these as wet weather trousers for my son, and though we haven't tried them in snow yet they've been great given all the rain we've had lately! I did have to exchange the size 4-5 for an age 3-4 for my 4 year old as they were miles too long, and even the size we have now has to be turned up but I don't mind that, as at least he should get some wear out of them! He loves to wear them, and the silky lining means they are easy to get on and off over his trousers. We're looking forward to the snow now, they should be great for sledging!!!

I'm 5'4 and a size 10 / 12 and when I received these trousers I thought I'd just have a go as THEY ARE HUGE. And hey presto - fitted almost perfectly. Obviously if your child is also 5'4 then they'd be great!
