Love the colours (have both the navy & khaki check) but not a fan of the ribbed waistband - just find the fit around the waist not as good as a 'normal' waistband.

These are really great trousers. My 8 yr old loves them and If boden had them in his size in other colours I would order them but they are so good they have sold out! I was too slow!

I bought these to replace the 'tartan baggies' that you used to do and my sons loved. These do not have an elasticated waistband and the small amount of adjustment in the cord is not sufficient to hold the weight of these trousers up. The pockets add considerable weight to these and I will need to have elastic added to the waistband for these to be of any use.

I bought these in khaki check for my son. They arrived today and both he and I love them. They look fantastic and are seem great quality. I have since ordered 2 more pairs in other colours. They are a little large for him (he's a tall 3 1/2 and I've ordered size 5) but it actually doesn't make any difference as they look great rolled up and have drawstring waist. Buy them!

Great pair of summer trousers. I ordered these in the navy check in a size 8 for my 6/1/2 year old. Although they are long and the waist is a little bit too big, when they are rolled up (which is how he always wears them), and the lace is tied, they fit perfectly. Hopefully they will see him through to next year.

I have a pretty tall 8 year old- ordered the patterned blue size 11 trousers. They are perfect fit. He is a very active/ outdoor boy and has twice (much to my despair) ended up playing rugby in them. Both times covered in mud and grass stains and both times, with a bit of elbow grease and vanish, the stains have completely come out. This new material is excellent. He used to go through the brushed cotton equivalents from a few years ago within weeks. Please keep this new material. Very happy mum and son

I bought these for my four year old, he has had them in the past too and find them brilliant for summer as can be worn rolled up or down, the pockets are great for all his found shells and other specimens and also the draw string top makes it easy for him to be independent.
The only downside was although he has only just turned four they were slightly half mast so had to exchange for an age five - however as they roll up he can grow into them and the draw string works so can be pulled in. My son would like to add 'he likes mummy shopping at that shop as the clothes don't have any sharp prickly bits (I assume paper price tags) when trying them on' Well done Boden the four year old approves!

Having read lots of this years reviews about sizing, I paid close attention to the garment measurements before ordering these trousers. My only just, skinny 6 yr old is already 122cm, so I ordered the aged 7, fearing I'd have to send them back as they'd be too baggy on the waist. Fear not, there is room for adjustment in the drawstring, not as in previous years where the drawstring has been purely decorative. Having tired of passing on perfectly decent Boden clothes my son has outgrown, but that still look almost new, this time I got savvy and ordered them in red. As expected, they'll be prefectly suitable to pass on to his younger sister. They are much nicer than the photograph shows. All I'd say regarding sizing, is measure your child and check out the garment measurements, the ages are average approximations, the garment measurements are exact.

I have to disagree with the bad sizing comment as my 10 year old son ( who is fairly short) fits these trousers very well. They are about 5 cm too long but he'll probably always wear them rolled up. He's quite chubby so the elasticated waist is perfect. Good for all year round.
