Bought size 7/8 for my slim, slightly taller than average 6year old. A tad big but good growing room and he loves it!

Great jacket.
I ordered size 5-6 for my 4.5 year old to keep for later in the year. Body size is fine as it's ok to wear now but will be a better fit later.
The only thing I'd say is that the sleeves are very long and need turning up.

I prchased this coat in blue for 2 of my boys (9-10 and 10-11)they have so many comments about them they look really smart and trendy l am so pleased with them would and have recommended to friends.

I was very happy to find this jacket and ordered it in brown/orange. When my husband saw it, he had some doubts initially as it looked a bit girly to him.. I don't agree - even if the orange on the hood and inside sleeves is quite bright orange/red it's very interesting, dark brown would look boring on a 6-year-old boy. He is a bit tall for his age but skinny so i bought it in size 7-8yrs. When the jacket arrived in September it looked somewhat too big. Now, with some layers underneath and the sleeves turned up, it looks just right and should last.
I was looking for a kilted jacket with a hood as most kilted ones don't have hoods - for me this fact brings value for money. We haven't had a chance yet to check if it's shower resistant, I hope it is but he has a warmer jackets anyway (kilted jacket won't do for the coldest months in Austria) so I'm not too worried about it.
All in all, happy with the purchase. When my son wears it with a stripy scarf and his cute newsboy cap, he looks like a stylish little man!:)

I ordered the Khaki and navy -still waiting for the navy as its' on waiting list. I have a slim 5 yr old and got the 4/5 size. The body is fairly neat fitting but the sleeves are sooooo long - turned them up and its' fine. A little stiff too which I was a bit disappointed about. The khaki colour is greener than I expected but we've gotten loads of compliments and despite other reviews I find it quite warm. Overall its' a really stylish jacket and we are all (ie my fussy little boy) very happy with it..

this is a really stylish jacket for my little boy.The fit is good-arms slightly long but they look good turned back.Very pleased with this one.

Great looking coat but not very warm so have swapped it for the tried and tested fleece lined jacket instead which is also slightly shower proof. I would recommend this coat but only if you were going to buy a warmer coat too and just use this one on a not so chilly day! I ordered a 3-4 for my tall 2 and a half year old which was slightly on the big side but fine for a Winter coat.

Perfect size for my tall, long armed (no, hes not a gorilla!) boy. Would advise if you have a average/small child don't order a size up. The long sleeves are perfect and the body not too oversized! Well done Boden - a corker! Ive ticked 'Not Shower Proof' but this hasn't been tested. Material doesn't feel that it would be too shower proof but I could be wrong!

My son chose this Jacket in Navy for school and really loves it. Had to order 7-8 as no 6-7 yrs (son is 6). Not surprisingly found to be on the big side and had to turn the sleeves up, luckily nice green contrast lining makes it look ok. Reasonable warm but hood is a bit small, not sure if will stay up or keep front of head dry. Hat needed I think. If he didn't like it so much I would have returned. Wish there was a 6-7yr!
