Really super soft coat. My son loves it. It's outer layer is slightly thinner than previous coats from Boden but this may b due it being down filled.

I have never complained about any Boden product, but this padded jacket is very disappointing. The body is padded well and the arms are poor, the padding in some places is non - existent which will make it a poor cold weather garment.

Initial reaction very positive, colour good, nice feel to the coat, good fit & my son was thrilled with it. However, after what is now 3 months' wear, the outer yellow fabric has not stood the test of time or boys. There are tiny little tears on both shoulders/upper sleeves with the wadding poking through. I would have expected the outer fabric to be sturdier and not so easily damaged, especially in kids' clothing. Not unexpectedly my son has got the coat rather grubby. Unexpectedly it has not washed well, the mud seems to have marked the yellow so it is less bright in places. Overall the coat has been warm enough and the detachable hood a useful feature, but I would hesitate to buy another next year - a disappointment as we confidently bought this as a replacement for last year's red version.

I bought the khaki jacket in size 5-6 for my 4.5 year old to use later in the year. It's a good fit with enough growing room. Bright green fleece lining is a nice touch.This is the 4th or 5th Boden jacket I've bought and whilst I'm pleased with it, previous versions have been better (detachable sleeves etc). A bit pricey at [$] but with 25% discount, was more reasonable.

Beautiful quality boys jacket ~ this is the 6th year I've bought my oldest boys winter coat from Boden.
Its money well spent & the coats get passed down through 2 others & they still look as good as new!
Excellent durable quality ~ to survive 3 boys this well it a TRUE test!
I shall definitely be back next year!

This is the fourth padded jacket from Boden I have bought and is a bit disappointing. The detachable sleeves went last year. Now the pocket zips have gone and there is no flap with buttons to cover the zip. I like the soft touch fabric and love the colour (yellow) but feel that corners are being cut whilst the price is going up. The earlier jackets have lasted and are now beginning their third use. Overall, a bit disappointed and will look around next year.

I bought the Amber jacket in 3-4 for my son who is nearly 4. It was a perfect fit for him. He has been wearing it for a few months and he loves it. This is the jacket he always chooses to wear. He says it feels soft.
My view is it's light but warm enough for this years winter and actually better quality than it seems at first glance. We both love the colour, which is great for picking him out in a crowd! I am not sure if it would be warm enough for a very cold spell but as there is room underneath for a fleece I think it would be ok as the outer layer. It has held up well to a rain shower. Perhaps pricey at full cost but worth the price with a discount offer.

I was looking for a raincoat for my 2 and half year old son and I was looking for ages until I came across this padded jacket. To say the least, I really like this jacket, it's warm and lightweight. I brought the storm colour one and it looks lovely on him if I might say so. The only problem is that it's a bit short and my son is not tall, he's probably a little below average so I was a bit disappointed with the length but it won't stop me from buying a another one for him!

Overall, lovely warm jacket!

Ordered a size 7-8 coat. When it arrived I was shocked on the size ( it is the same size as last year's coat age 5-6)with no growing room for my average aged 7 and a half. Good quality though, colour is flat/dull ordered the green, but warm,light and good enough for school. Will exchange for 9-10 hope its not too big!!
